LaMeisha and Ronda contacted us about having a popup wedding in DC and incorporating one of their favorite things to do together…riding motorcycles! Since riding motorcycles in wedding dresses proves tricky, we thought the Rolling Thunder festival might be a good place to incorporate their love of motorcycles into their wedding.
There were motorcycles everywhere when we arrived, and we found a spot right in the middle of the Thunder Alley festival for the ceremony. Lots of people watched from their bikes, and there was so much clapping and congratulating after LaMeisha and Ronda were married! But that was nothing compared to how many people congratulated the two of them during our photo session — countless people hugged, high fived, and asked for photos with the brides, which made it feel like the whole festival was filled with well-wishing friends (one of my all-time favorite parts about popup weddings).
I loved that LaMeisha and Ronda centered their wedding around things they love — it was so unique and felt incredibly personal. They also had the coolest outfits — wedding dress skirts with Harley Davidson tops! And…motorcycle boots! The best.
Congratulations LaMeisha & Ronda, you rock!
See that guy who photobombed this shot? He and his friends were pretty rad — they all congratulated LaMeisha and Ronda as they walked by. Then, when Steven and I left to head to our next wedding of the day, we found our car completely parked in by about 15 motorcycles (in a huge line of hundreds that blocked the whole street). We thought we were safe since we parked a few blocks away from the festival, but were we ever wrong! We were a bit panicky — we had another wedding to get to! — but as luck would have it, the dude pictured here showed up with his friends, recognized us, and then organized all the people whose bikes were in front of ours to move them so that we could get out. He saved the day! So, here’s to you and your buddies, awesome-motorcycle-riding-friend. Your mustache is awesome and so are you! Thanks!
