Together, Jennifer and Alex have six kids. Their kids were so excited for them to get married. They kept asking about the wedding. So, like two awesome parents would, they planned a popup surprise wedding! At one of the most gorgeous murals in DC, no less.
The kids thought they were headed to a family photo session. As they walked into Blagden Alley, they saw their family and friends, and the surprise wedding was revealed!
Surprise weddings are theeeee most fun.
Plus, these kids-as-bridesmaids and groomsmen photos are simply the cutest!

Also, a new favorite popup wedding spot of ours in the LOVE mural by Lisa Marie Thalhammer 💖 Thank you, Lisa, for making such beautiful art for our city!
The girls! Kids as bridesmaids is such a fun idea. Jennifer and the girls picked out these matching jackets for their “photo session” and they just happen to be perfect for a wedding!
And look at the boys! With their matching hats and bright purple, the whole family looks amazing together.
It also pays to be crafty! Jennifer made these golden dinosaur cake toppers herself before the wedding. They added such a fun, personal touch to their ceremony and everyone totally fell in love with them.
Look at those kids! They’re like “guys, come on, can we just eat the cake already?” 😂
After the ceremony and cake feast, we made a confetti tunnel for Jennifer and Alex before their friends and family headed off. Look at their son’s face as he gets to chuck a giant handful of confetti at mom and dad! Biodegradable confetti for the win!
A tip: if you throw confetti, you’ll wear it all day. But it’s kind of better this way, am I right?! So pretty!
